The Collision

That morning, as agent Alexandre Iline was finishing the closure of a work zone, he noticed a semi-truck stopped at the intercom of the unloading dock exit.

To access the site, the driver opened his door and leaned out to press the intercom, when the truck suddenly reversed. The door hit the intercom post, violently throwing him from the cabin.

The truck, now in free motion, rolled about twenty meters, scraping the wall and tearing down electrical cables, before crashing into a snow removal vehicle just exiting the underground parking. Inside was a maintenance worker who took the full force of the impact.

Immediate Response

As a direct witness, agent Iline used the nearest intercom to contact agent Renaudin at the Control Center, who then issued a radio alert.

He was quickly joined by Sector Chief Sicard, Team Leader Johary, agent Corbeaux, and agent Chauville with first aid equipment.

They rushed to the scene to assist the injured man. Although seriously wounded in the head, he managed to exit the vehicle. In shock and bleeding heavily, he was cared for by agent Iline, who helped him sit, checked his consciousness, and called emergency services (144).

Later that morning, the truck was moved, its cargo transferred, and traffic on-site restored. The police gathered witness statements and had the damaged vehicles removed.
