    Yoana Christophel, recruitment officer, Geneva

Who are you in a few words?

My name is Yoana, I am 24 years old, a determined and passionate young woman. I’ve been playing regional football for 8 years, learning discipline and team spirit. People often say that I am always smiling and cheerful.

What motivated you to work at Protectas?

It is mainly the company’s reputation and global presence. I admire the positive impact the company has on security and people's lives. It aligns with my values and my desire to contribute to a safer environment.

Can you tell us about your beginnings at Protectas?

I was hired at Protectas as a recruitment officer. I was fortunate to join a strong and united team that welcomed me and trusted me despite my young age.

What are you responsible for now?

Since I joined, I’ve kept the same role, but my tasks and responsibilities have grown and diversified over the years. This has allowed me to evolve into a varied and fulfilling role.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I love seeing the joy on candidates' faces when we say, "You’re hired!" Bringing happiness by placing the right people in the right roles is what gives purpose to my job.

What is your biggest challenge, and how do you manage it?

Sometimes, my age raises questions. To address this, I rely on my work and determination to prove my skills. Every day, I show that it’s not the years that define expertise, but the actions and results that come from them.

What value resonates with you the most and why? (Integrity, Vigilance, Service)

Integrity is essential to me. I see myself as an honest and upright person, for whom transparency and truth are fundamental.

I believe trust is built through sincere communication and consistent actions. That’s how I approach life, both with my colleagues and in my personal life.

How do you feel working as a woman in your field?

Working in a predominantly male industry is a challenge I face with determination. I firmly believe that professionalism and results speak for themselves, and I never let stereotypes influence or discourage me.

What advice would you give to women who want to work in the security sector?

I would advise them to go for it and not let stereotypes hold them back! This job is not just for men, women have just as much of a place in it. Diversity is a true strength, and every contribution, whether female or male, is valuable.
