Mission Protectas : Patricia Champion

Who are you in a few words?

My name is Patricia Champion, I am 54 years old, and I am from the Canton of Jura in Switzerland. Dynamic, committed, and persistent, I have been working at Protectas for 9 years as an auxiliary agent. 

What motivated you to work at Protectas? 

The variety of tasks. Every day is unique, with new situations to manage. This makes the job both stimulating and rewarding. I also appreciate the human contact and the opportunity to have a direct impact on security and prevention. 

What do you like about your job? 

What I appreciate most is the variety of tasks and missions, which are different every day. I also enjoy having responsibilities, especially with sensitive missions such as theft prevention, which require responsiveness and adaptability. I also enjoy the relational aspect of the job and the ability to handle tense situations with calm and efficiency. 

What is your greatest challenge and how do you manage it? 

Undoubtedly, managing conflict or tense situations where quick intervention is needed. However, I have learned to stay calm and adopt the right attitude to defuse these moments. As a woman, I believe I have an advantage in easing conflicts with more finesse and diplomacy. 

How do you feel about working as a woman in this profession? 

My gender sometimes gives me the opportunity to bring a different approach. In tense situations, a female presence can often be more soothing and effective. This allows me to handle certain situations with more tact and sensitivity. 

What does your additional role as staff representative entail? 

Since 2021 I have also taken on the role of staff representative at the regional level, and I feel a great responsibility towards my colleagues. 

This role is particularly important to me because it allows me to defend their interests while ensuring that the work environment remains respectful and fulfilling for everyone. 

I strive to be available and attentive, offering constructive advice and supporting each individual in their efforts. 
 
This role also allows me to collaborate with regional management, thus facilitating communication between teams and decision-making bodies. My goal is to foster a climate of trust and find balanced solutions to concerns raised, in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
