Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

My name is Marie-France, I am 62 years old, and I am a thoughtful person who values communication and sharing experiences.

What motivated you to join Protectas?

I hold a Federal Diploma in Commerce and worked in accounting for several years. In 2009, while looking for a new job, I felt the need to take on new challenges and move into a different sector.

Through acquaintances, I discovered Protectas and applied for a security officer position—an opportunity that immediately caught my interest.

How did your journey at Protectas begin?

I joined the company in February 2009 as a security officer, primarily conducting patrols on a site.

Thanks to my experience in reception and administrative management, I quickly secured a second role as a receptionist at a site that required this profile.

I was fortunate to alternate between both roles: working at the reception desk during the week and conducting security patrols on some Sundays. This dual experience allowed me to discover two very different yet equally enriching aspects of the profession.

Through Protectas, I acquired new skills and significantly expanded my professional expertise.

What are your responsibilities today?

For 15 years, I have been working as a receptionist at a site where I welcome clients and visitors. Beyond these duties, I also handle administrative tasks and oversee certain security-related aspects.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I particularly enjoy is the variety of tasks entrusted to us and the trust the company places in us. No two days are the same, and that makes my job both exciting and rewarding.

What is your biggest challenge, and how do you handle it?

The main challenge is never becoming complacent, even after many years of experience. Every day, I strive to remain welcoming, patient, and professional, regardless of the situation. Professionalism and kindness are essential in this field.

Which Protectas value resonates most with you and why?

I believe that Protectas' three core values—Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness—are inseparable when working at the reception. They are reflected daily in all our interactions, whether with visitors, clients, or internal teams.

As a woman, how do you feel about your position in this industry?

Personally, I have always felt fully integrated at Protectas. I have never experienced any difference or discomfort related to my gender. The work environment is respectful and inclusive, allowing everyone to thrive.

What advice would you give to women who want to work in security?

If you are interested in security, take the leap! This industry is incredibly diverse and fascinating, offering numerous opportunities and allowing you to develop valuable skills in many areas. It’s a rewarding profession that is worth exploring.
