Who are you in a few words?

My name is Demir Zoranic, I am originally from Bern, and I serve as Branch Manager Operations. I have been with the company for 15 years, evolving through different roles and responsibilities.

What motivated you to work at Protectas?

The opportunity to take on a meaningful role. My main motivation is to use my skills to support others—helping our employees, meeting our clients’ expectations, and contributing to a safer environment.

Can you tell us about your beginnings at Protectas?

I joined Protectas somewhat by chance. A friend recommended me for a security officer position at an embassy, a field I didn’t even know Protectas was involved in. I quickly discovered the broad scope and diversity of services the company offers, which deepened my interest in the private security sector.

What are your responsibilities now?

As Branch Manager Operations, my role is to ensure operational excellence in the services we provide.

I act as the link between client needs and service quality, while also overseeing the integration and development of new employees.

Additionally, I support our team leaders on-site and actively work on enhancing our service offerings, identifying new opportunities, and adapting our solutions to meet market demands.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What motivates me the most is the trust I can build with both employees and clients.

Providing opportunities to candidates, guiding employees in their career growth, and ensuring that clients receive reliable, high-quality security services are all essential aspects of my commitment. 

More broadly, I appreciate the critical role we play in creating a secure and reassuring environment for all stakeholders.

What is your biggest challenge, and how do you handle it?

The main challenge in my role is managing the often differing interests of various stakeholders.

Sometimes, the company’s strategic objectives do not fully align with client expectations, and employees' needs may not always match organizational requirements.

My role is to find a balance and foster mutual understanding, all while ensuring performance and satisfaction for everyone involved.

With 15 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the local landscape, I have developed the ability to anticipate these challenges and implement suitable solutions. As a Bern native, I am particularly attuned to local culture and specificities, which allows me to adopt a pragmatic and thoughtful approach.

I strongly encourage women to assert their place in this sector and never accept being judged on anything other than their abilities.

Condenscending remarks should never be tolerated—whether from clients, colleagues, or supervisors. It is essential to report any inappropriate behavior and work with HR to ensure a respectful and equitable work environment.
