Mission Protectas : Claude-Alain Vouilloz

Who are you in a few words?

My name is Claude-Alain Vouilloz, I am 52 years old, and I am Swiss. I have been working in the security field since 1996.  

I joined Protectas in 2007 as a dog handler in the Geneva canine unit.  

Since 2015, I have been working in Orbe as an armed dog handler in the prison sector. 

What motivated you to work at Protectas? 

The diversity of missions and sites where we work, but above all, the opportunity to work with dogs. It is a relationship built on trust and a true partnership in the service of security in prisons. 

Can you tell us about your beginnings at Protectas?

Starting at Protectas was not easy, as my job required me to adapt to changing schedules, different sites, and teamwork. However, I was soon assigned to a single site, which allowed me to find my footing, understand the challenges of prison security missions, and refine my skills in this environment. 

What are you responsible for now? 

I am responsible for successfully completing the tasks assigned to me. 

What do you like about your job? 

I enjoy working with my dog on a large site. My missions are not always easy, but I am lucky to be surrounded by great teammates and colleagues. 

Which value resonates with you the most and why?

Integrity, because it reflects honest behavior and the reliability of actions. I would also mention helpfulness because I enjoy helping others without expecting anything in return.

Any advice for women who want to work in the security sector? 

Don’t have prejudices about security! At Protectas, women and men are treated equally.
